I've owned this CD for a few years now, but never got around to writing a review. Shame on me. This is a terrific recording!!! -- one that will surely stand the test of time. The ulimate test of music is how it sounds after repeated listenings over the passage of time. Cactus Choir has a 'dynamic quality' (to borrow a phrase from philosopher Robert Pirsig) that is reserved for some of the great recording artists of our time. I'd give the record ten stars.

I just had to try this CD since I am head-over-heals crazy for the Cactus Choir CD. This CD can't possibly equal that one but there are a few standout tracks here - Blind Date @ Juanito's, West All Day, and Dark Eyed Lady of The Southland. This is a little mellower, more James Taylorish than the Cactus Choir release. Even now the songs are still growing on me

A song writer's, Songwriter, Marty Atkinson shows his playing ability too. The songs are world class viginettes, full of heartfelt imagery. You can sense that this wordsmith would blush while delivering these ballads and internal dialogs. Brilliant playing of stringed instruments and flawless harmonies. A little bit sad along the lines of a modern James Taylor, but still shows a sense of humor.
